The mission of The Spark Collective is to build community among women by creating a deliberate space for growth, connection and inspiration.  Spark programs aim to stimulate ideas, offer support in pursuit of our personal and professional ambitions and celebrate women who are leaders in their field.  Spark values include authenticity, intellectual curiosity, empathy and generosity.

Meghan Fennell

Meghan is the founder of The Spark Collective.  She brings a deeply held passion for supporting women in business, leadership and society. Her ambition is to build communities that empower women and girls.  With more than a decade of international corporate experience, Meghan has built a career in communications and managing global strategic platforms.  Prior to launching Spark she managed Deloitte’s Women in Leadership strategy for the UK and had previously managed Deloitte's global strategic partnership with the World Economic Forum out of the London office.  For nearly six years she worked with the Monitor Group in Cambridge, MA where she helped build and grow Monitor Talent, a global network of cutting-edge academics, authors and executives.  She was also the co-lead of the Monitor Women's Network in both Cambridge, MA and London.  Meghan was a public relations specialist with the Racepoint Group in Boston and, previously, helped launch the inaugural Clinton Global Initiative event in New York, convening more than 1,000 global executives, heads of state and non profit organizations.  

With a long standing commitment to advancing gender equality in the world, Meghan writes frequently on topics affecting women in the workforce, media and society.  She is also a CTI-trained coach.  Meghan lives north of Boston with her husband, two children and their dog Pippa. 



Martha acworth

President, Artaic

Martha is currently overseeing the strategic direction and managing the daily business of this innovative mosaic tile company founded by her husband, Dr. Ted Acworth, in 2009.  Most recently, Martha was Chief Marketing Officer at Salem Five Bank, where she spent a decade serving on the leadership team for this $5 billion regional community bank.  Previously, she served in leadership positions at KeyCorp, The Pyramid Companies and the Olympic Regional Development Authority.  A graduate of Fordham University, Acworth is involved with a number of Boston area organizations including the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, where she is a former Women’s Network board chair and the Big Sister Association.  Martha resides in Hamilton, MA with her husband Ted and three young children.


sally berkowitz

Director, Product Management, eCornell, Cornell University

As eCornell’s Director of Product Management, Sally represents the voice of the customer.  She is responsible for driving innovation in eCornell's products by creating new content, features and product lines to support their customers growing and evolving needs.  Prior to joining eCornell Sally was the Director of Events at a communications agency in the Boston area where she was responsible for developing and executing events for 20 - 1500 attendees.  Sally holds a B.A. from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY where she studied Sociology and Studio Art.  Sally and her husband Nate have two daughters and live in Manchester, MA.  


R. bruce journey

Bruce is a proven leader in the media business with extensive experience building some of the world’s leading consumer media brands. A disruptor and innovator throughout his career, Bruce is a founder of dataxu, a software company that helps marketing professionals use data to improve their advertising. Previously he served as president and CEO of MIT's Technology Review, Inc. – an independent media company recognized as the world’s most authoritative voice on emerging technologies and their commercial impact. His decade of leadership at Technology Review created an innovative, award-winning brand. Prior to Technology Review, he was a member of the sales management team at Time Inc., at both the Time and Fortune brands.



Anna Rossi

Anna Rossi is a TV personality, food writer, brand ambassador, and spokesperson.  Currently, she produces her own segment on NBC 10 Boston's The Hub Today, a lifestyle show featuring food, lifestyle and travel. She is a MasterChef USA finalist and chef and her recipes and work have been featured in nationally distributed magazines including Cosmopolitan, Prime Living, Spoonful and New England Living. Anna's original content is consumer facing in the marketing initiatives of RH Peterson and Olivio Premium Products.  She lives in Wenham with her husband and children.
